Overview

The PC Actor is an attempt to make the WoD20 system for Foundry more streamlined and simpler. It also makes each sheet dynamic so you can customize it to fit most tables. It is meant to replace all main sheets that exist as of this writing with a unified, flexible system that works for all character types, while the old items used by the old Actor types still work with the new one.

How does this work?

Each PC Actor starts out blank when created in Foundry: no abilities, no advantages—nothing. The next step is to add what is called a Template item, either from the system Compendium or one you create yourself. Want to use different abilities than the default? Add them. Want werewolves to have humanity? Add it. The compendium holds both the typical template items and the normal abilities and advantages used by those Template items; if something does not exist, you can create it.

Over time, more and more Template items will be released until every existing sheet type has its own Template item, and then the old sheets can be retired. Until then, the old sheets remain, and before their removal a tool will exist to convert old sheets into the new ones; until then you can use both types without issue.

Character Type Configuration:

  • PC Actor starts as a generic character sheet
  • Drag and drop a Template Item from the compendium or create your own to define your character type (see Working with Template Items)
  • The sheet automatically adapts to show the right fields, abilities, and features
  • All character types use the same interface, with different content
  • All actor types use the same legacy items

Getting Started

So you want to create a character? At the moment PC Actor supports sheets for Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf the Apocalypse, Mage the Ascension, and Mortals.

Step 1: Create a PC Actor

  1. In Foundry VTT, click the Actors tab in the sidebar
  2. Click Create Actor and select the PC actor type
  3. Give your character a name

Step 2: Add a Template Item

This is the most important step!

  1. Open your PC Actor sheet
  2. Find a Template Item you want to use (from the compendium or in your world)
  3. Drag and drop the Template Item onto your character sheet
  4. The sheet will automatically configure for that character type

Without a Template Item:

  • Your character is a generic "Mortal" by default
  • Many features are unavailable
  • Character typespecific fields do not appear
  • You must add abilities and advantages manually

With a Template Item:

  • Character type is set (Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, etc.)
  • The right abilities and advantages are added
  • Character typespecific bio fields appear
  • Powers and Features are configured correctly

Step 3: Customize Your Character

Once you have added a Template Item, you can:

  • Fill in bio information
  • Set attribute and ability values
  • Add powers (Disciplines, Gifts, Rotes, etc.)
  • Add equipment and weapons
